Fearrington Cares
Fearrington Cares is a volunteer organization for Fearrington Village residents. Transportation services for residents are scheduled by calling 542-1930 and leaving a message stating your needs. A volunteer will call back to coordinate your transportation request. Customers need to be mobile and able to assist access to a volunteers vehicle. For more information either stop by the Fearrington Cares office or call 542-1930 Monday - Friday 9-1.

UNC Parking Lot and Bus Service

The UNC Parking Lot located at Chatham Crossing(Route 15/1501 at Lystra Rd.) with bus routes to UNC facilities is available by permit. The permit is issued at the public safety building on the UNC campus. For community alternative parking the primary qualification is a need to be on campus, such as regular trips to the UNC hospital system.

Hill and back each weekday, picking up and dropping off at homes within 2
1/2
miles of this route.
- Special needs such as a wheelchair need to be identified when
making a reservation.
- Arrives in Chapel Hill at the UNC ACC and then the Main Hospital a
few minutes before 8:30 am, 12:30 pm and 4:30pm.
- Drop off and pick up at Chatham Crossing upon request.
- Will pick up and drop off at your house in Fearrington Village with
prior reservations with the dispatcher(542-5136). Reservations can be made
at any time but advance reservations are best(1-2 days).
- One way fare (exact change) is $1 for under 13 years or over 59
years and disabled. Others are $2.00.
- Connects with the Triangle Transit Authority(919-549-9999) for connections beyond
Chapel Hill (Durham, Southpoint etc.) at the UNC Main Hospital Manning drive
bus stop. Also connects with the Chapel Hill Transit(968-2769) at the same drop
points in Chapel Hill.
American Cancer Society
This service is for cancer patients only. The American Red Cross (919) 489- 6541
provides this service and requires that transportation be requested 3-5 days in advance.
All return trips must be completed by 4 p.m. There is a charge for these
services. Department of Social Services (919) 560-8600. Medical transportation is
provided at no cost to Medicaid clients.
